“It’s a little Black Crowes, a little Humble Pie, and hell of a lot of soul! You may be able to recognize many of this band’s numerous influences in their amazing sound, but one thing’s for sure…you can’t fake soul and this band’s got soul!”

Vintage Rock and Roll

Spawned out of the rolling hills of Southern Ohio, vintage rock n’ rollers, The Summit, have become one of the country’s most sought-after touring bands. The lineup consists of Chris Scott (vocals), Mike Hennel (drums and vocals), Michael Walker (bass), Matt Goetz (guitar), Nathan Morgan (guitar), and James Wiley-Benes (keys and vocals). After consecutive invites to join legendary rock trio ZZ Top on tour in both 2017 and 2018, The Summit quickly rose beyond their roots in Cincinnati, OH, evolving into a powerful presence on major stages across America.

In the fall of 2016, songwriters Chris Scott and Mike Hennel struck gold with a publishing and licensing deal in Nashville, introducing fresh, soul-infused blues rock tunes to the scene.

“Their sound is very reminiscent of modern-day songwriting gurus such as JJ Grey and Amos Lee, but it’s insanely fused with the vintage tones of iconic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Humble Pie, and The Black Crowes. The Summit is definitely playing outside of their generation, but somehow grabs the attention of all generations lucky enough to see and hear them perform!” – Philip Ryan Block, Owner, Independent Ear Records

By April of 2017, The Summit released their self-titled EP (Universal Music Group/ILS), which quickly gained traction nationwide. Their single, "Nicola Jane," captured tens of thousands of listeners across satellite stations and radio markets, leaving audiences eager for more.

The success of "Nicola Jane" brought numerous opportunities, including performances with Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, Collective Soul, and REO Speedwagon. By the summer of 2017, ZZ Top personally invited The Summit to join their Tonnage Tour, spending two years on the road with the legendary trio and building a loyal fan base across the U.S.

The Summit has continued to tour with big names like ZZ Top, Collective Soul, and REO Speedwagon, while collaborating with renowned producer Will Turpin of Collective Soul. Now, the band is thrilled to release their debut full-length album, Firebirds and Aviators, recorded at Real to Reel Studios in Georgia and set to drop on vinyl and streaming platforms on November 1st. Their lead single, "Hit Me Up," has already garnered over 500k streams, fueling excitement for the album.

With a growing fanbase and momentum from their live shows and single releases, The Summit is poised to make an enduring mark in the rock music world.

“The Summit are always one to drench our speakers in heavily emotional, meaningful, and powerful instrumentation. Through their blend of blues-based rock, The Summit are wrangling a hefty fanbase while marking their territory as a force to be reckoned with”.
- BuzzMusic
“Every member of this band plays with such a gusto and with so much heart that their songs are incredibly addictive and damn do their choruses stick with you for days even after just one listen… It's all very moving and it's been a long time since you've heard and watched songs that can be touching on this level..”
- The Sounds Won’t Stop
“Speaking directly on the single itself, this song speaks to the millions of people affected by the ongoing Opioid Crisis. As a band, they’ve seen first-hand what the abuse of these drugs can do to a mother, father, sister, brother, friend, etc and the emotional toll this pandemic continues to hold on so many communities across the country. The song is representative of two voices - those abusing and those that are affected by abuse…”
- We Write About Music
“An extremely powerful, melody-driven group that uniquely blends elements of blues-based rock n’ roll. Their music is thought provoking, emotional and intensely memorable…”
